Post-doctoral position – spin-orbit torques in 2D ferromagnets

In the frame of the FlagERA project MNEMOSYN, coordinated by Spintec and in collaboration with 5 European institutions, Spintec laboratory is opening a postdoctoral researcher position. The candidate will investigate spin-orbit torques in FexGeTe2 2D ferromagnets grown by molecular beam epitaxy. The 2D magnets will be associated to topological insulators or transition metal dichalcogenides in multilayers. The work mainly consists in patterning of devices, magnetotransport measurements and analysis, but also includes participation to the epitaxial growth of multilayers.

The candidate must hold a PhD in physics, with a good knowledge of magnetism, spintronics and/or physics of 2D materials. A previous experience with nanofabrication and magnetotransport measurements is required.

The position is 12 months-long and expected to start on March 1st, 2025.

We offer an international and competitive environment, state-of-the-art equipment, and the possibility to perform research at the highest level. We promote teamwork in a diverse and inclusive environment and welcome all kinds of applicants.

The contract will be managed by CNRS. Candidates should apply through the CNRS job portal, attaching a complete CV, a cover letter and recommendation letters.

The deadline for application is November 15th, 2024.
