In the frame of the French national ANR project ELMAX, Spintec laboratory is opening a postdoctoral researcher position. The candidate will work on the magnetism of FexGeTe2 2D ferromagnets grown by molecular beam epitaxy. The objective will be to tune the magnetic properties of 2D ferromagnets by interfacing with high spin-orbit materials (transition metal dichalcogenides and topological insulators) and by electrostatic control with a gate voltage. The work includes epitaxial growth of multilayers, patterning of devices and magnetic measurements both in house (Hall, Kerr, MCD) and at synchrotron (XMCD, ARPES).
The candidate must hold a PhD in physics, with a good knowledge of magnetism, spintronics and/or physics of 2D materials. A previous experience with molecular beam epitaxy and/or nanofabrication will be appreciated.
The position is 18 months-long (possibly extended to 22 months) and expected to start on February 1, 2022. The successful candidate will join the « 2D and Semiconductor Spintronics » team of Spintec, which already masters the growth of 2D ferromagnets (https://arxiv.org/abs/2106.12808). The contract will be managed by CNRS and funded by ANR Agency.
We offer an international and competitive environment, state-of-the-art equipment, and the possibility to perform research at the highest level. We promote teamwork in a diverse and inclusive environment and welcome all kinds of applicants. Further information about Spintec laboratory www.spintec.fr.
Candidates should apply through the CNRS Careers Portal (https://bit.ly/3nSXJJG), attaching a complete CV, a cover letter and recommendation letters.
