Superfast – An ANR project

Suferfast is an ANR project, with title Exploiting specificities of d-wave superconductivity for ultrafast dynamic coupling with magnetism (ANR-22-CE30-0020-01).

SUPERFAST aims at demonstrating novel spin transport and ultrafast dynamics coupling effects in heterostructures combining magnetic materials and unconventional superconductors (S). The pursued ideas have much interest within condensed-matter physics and in the nascent field of S spintronics. The key specificity of SUPERFAST is that it focuses on high-Tc d-wave S (d-S), which remain unexplored in the context of spin transport and dynamics, and whose unique properties (anisotropy, high quasiparticle (QP) densities, large gap) expectedly change the physics at stake and allow for experiments that cannot be envisioned with conventional S. The objectives are:(1) Tuning the role of i) spin-polarized QPs and ii) propagation of equal-spin triplets, via spin-pumping;(2) Seeking spin Hall effects in d-S;(3) demonstrating that these Hall-effect allow coupling magnetization dynamics and superconducting state in the ultrafast THz regime, allowing for low-dissipation THz emission.
