24 months postdoc position – spintronic unconventional computing using stochastic magnetic tunnel junctions

In the frame of the joint US-French NSF-ANR project StochNet, Spintec laboratory is opening a postdoctoral researcher position. The candidate will work on stochastic magnetic tunnel junctions grown and fabricated at Spintec, and will use them to explore brain-inspired schemes promising for building energy-efficient computing hardware. The project will have a strong interdisciplinary aspect (Spintronic, Brain-inspired computing, Electronics, Artificial Intelligence). The work includes patterning magnetic nanodevices, magneto-transport measurements, building small circuit board spintronic prototypes used for unconventional computing. The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in physics, with a good knowledge of magnetism, spintronics, and familiarities with unconventional computing approaches. A previous experience in bio-inspired computing will be appreciated. The position is 24 months long and expected to start on May 15th, 2022. The successful candidate will join the « Artificial Intelligence » team of Spintec and an international consortium of laboratories that are leaders in spintronic unconventional computing using stochastic magnetic tunnel junctions (https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevApplied.13.034016, https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevB.104.054427).
